How to find the confidence to book a boudoir session

According to Webster dictionary the definition of confidence is, : a feeling or belief that you can do something well or succeed at something. : a feeling or belief that someone or something is good or has the ability to succeed at something. : the feeling of being certain that something will happen or that something is true. Confidence is sometimes hard to come back in todays society and how we have been taught a completely wrong idea of what being beautiful is. Through our lives we have been told to always love who we are and to be confident, because everyone loves a confident woman and man. Boudoir has beat the odds against this false stigma we have been taught is bad or too far out of the box to be considered a lady with morals. Women all around the world are discovering a whole other level of confidence through taking the jump and biting the bullet and just doing a boudoir session, and none of them have regretted doing it. You may be asking “how can I find the confidence to do boudoir” In this article I will give you some tips on how you can get where you want to be to be completely confident for the big day that will definitely change your perspective on yourself.

Remember your WHY

Why did you book the shoot in the first place? You did not book it just to get some cool pics of yourself. . Really think about what made you say yes to the shoot in the first place. Was it to build intimacy with your partner? To celebrate your body after a baby, weight loss, or leaving a less-than-happy relationship? To feel beautiful? I want you to leave the session with your “why” fulfilled as much as you do, so when you feel that twinge of self-doubt or self-criticism, remind yourself why you took the time to do the shoot in the first place. Dig deep into the why, and let that why push you through your session and let it drive you to accomplish the best photos possible!

Stay Honest

Honesty is always the best policy, do not put on a strong front. Be completely transparent to your photographer and let them know you are nervous, and they will do what they do best, and boost you right back to where you need to be. If you are uneasy that emotion will show in the photos so it is best to just say where you are mentally and get that out of the way so you can start having a ton of fun with your day of it being ALL about you!

You are not expected to be an experienced model

Although it is highly encouraged to look at other photos of boudoir, you do not need to look at them and compare yourself to them. It is difficult to explain how your confidence will rise and your body will know what to do naturally when it comes to poses, and even if you feel like you still cannot, then your trained professional photographer will guide you on the poses you need to do, and how your body needs to be in the shoots. Relax, they look good cause they were relaxed and just let the emotions flow, and you will too. So, in short do not look at other shoots and think you cannot do that, because maybe just maybe the girl in the photos you are looking at felt the same way as you do now and hers turned out amazing!
