The last few years have been rough in my life, my husband has a debilitating genetic condition that has gotten much worse, and I have had to care for him. Also during that time, we decided to have our first child.
Don’t get me wrong, my daughter is the light in my world, but I didn’t have the easiest of pregnancies and then ended up with a c-section, I felt like a failure. I know it wasn’t the case, but when you go through thinking it will be one way, and it turns out differently, you feel that way. I think a lot of mothers that have been in this place will understand.
Then after having her, looking in the mirror, I didn’t look like me, nothing seemed just right so I felt out of my own skin, I was a mother and a nurse but didn’t really feel like a woman anymore.
I had been following Black Lace Boudoir Facebook page for a while and felt like I needed a boost, after winning a canvas, I decided it was time to take the leap. I called Rami, and we spoke on the phone, and after talking to her, I knew this was going to be exactly what I needed.
She was a huge help in picking out items as I emailed her god knows how many times. She was patient and the best.
When the day came, I was a little nervous but decided it would be a good thing. After getting my hair and makeup done, we picked out my final outfits and began shooting. It was so much fun, there was music playing, and I started to relax. She was even silly at times to make me laugh and get the jitters out. It was such a good time!
Then we went to view my photos, and I was so nervous. All I could think was “How would I look” “Was it worth it” “My body isn’t the same, would it even look like me?”
I looked amazing, no I didn’t feel like I looked like me, I looked better than me!! Was that really me?! I was so happy it was awesome!

I had been following the page for a while and really loved the direction your style was going so I really wanted to do something a little more edgy and fun.
4. Did you have any obstacles or fears about boudoir?
I had just had a baby, and my body was not exactly where I would want it to be so I wasn’t sure how I would feel posing after all that. I still felt not sure in my skin since having my daughter and just wasn’t sure how comfortable I would be.

8. Any advice for women interested in their own boudoir session?
I believe that everyone should do it at least once in their life. It is something for you! It makes you feel different about yourself when you see those photos, every woman is beautiful in their own way, and I feel that this brings it out in you.
9.Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of the session?
I saw myself as a vibrant woman again and not just a crazy working mom! I am beautiful even if my body isn’t the way it used to be!
11. Would you recommend Black Lace Boudoir?
