Boudoir is not about sexy faces and duck lips

Boudoir, Transformation

No experience required

One of the biggest misconceptions about Boudoir photography or any professional photography is that you need to have some type of modeling experience to pull it off, this is simply not true. The best part of booking professional is that the photographer will guide you on how to pose for your portraits. A boudoir photo shoot is empowering, and not to mention a ton of fun! Boudoir photo shoots encourage you to love and embrace your body and have a new appreciation for yourself just they way you are. Finally wear the lingerie that has been sitting your drawer with the tags still on them. This is your moment to express yourself, and have the guarantee the pictures will turn out incredible. As you can see in the picture to the left, when you arrive to your session, you will have a glam squad ready for you, unless of course you prefer to do your own glam. Either way they are there to motivate you and calm your nerves to let you know you are in a safe place, a safe place to be you without any judgment. This is your day and your time to shine. Do not be nervous or hesitant because you have never stepped in the spotlight. The key is just to relax and have fun!

For the every day woman

It does not matter if you are a stay at home mom, business woman, or just a 9-5 type of a woman, boudoir was built for you and to fit you not for you to fit boudoir. If you are worried you will not be properly prepared here is a small list of some things you can mark off a list to make you feel more organized and at ease. This day is all about you and making you as comfortable as possible. If you are not it will reflect in your images, so just remember to stay relaxed, it is all going to be perfect! Shaving: Shaving can be done the night prior to the shoot, avoid shaving several days prior to the session to keep your skin smooth and not irritated. Consider products designed to help minimize razor burn if that is often an issue for you. Shaving the night before the shoot or the day of can help avoid this. If you want to tan, I suggest spray tan for the sake of avoiding skin cancer. Tanning a week before your scheduled shoot is highly suggested. This way your tan will look natural and will not end up staining your clothing and whatever you are posing on.

  • Arrive with a clean and moisturized face.
  • Moisturize your entire body!
  • Wear loose fitting clothing and undergarments to avoid impressions on the skin.
  • Eat a light meal that will ensure you’re satisfied but not bloated.
  • Allow plenty of time to arrive a few minutes early.

Here are a few tips to mentally be ready for your boudoir session

  1. Look for your perfect photographer. Someone who has a style you love.
  2. Decide how you want to be photographed. What is your style?
  3. Choose to be open with a positive mindset. It is important that you go into your boudoir experience with an open mind.
  4. Sleep and Water.
