Boudoir Photos for Groom

Bridal Boudoir, Baltimore, Washington DC

A Gift to Remember

Boudoir photos for groom is a great way to surprise your soon to be hubby! Boudoir photo shoots have remained popular among upcoming brides and grooms. Grooms and even couples together are posing for sexy photos, which is most popular among brides. Nevertheless, how does boudoir photography actually work? You’ll find all the information you need to make an informed decision about whether or not a risqué photoshoot is right for you (and your partner). A sultry professional photoshoot called a boudoir is intended as a romantic gift for your significant other. It’s common for people who have taken boudoir photos to give them to their fiancee as a wedding gift. Depending on your level of comfort and preferences, boudoir photography can range from the intimate and flirtatious to the downright sexy. There is no need for X-rated boudoir photos—if PG-13 is your sweet spot, that’s fine. As an additional option, you could draw inspiration from a specific theme or design aesthetic: A classic pinup style, or what the pros call “implied nudes,” is what you’re looking for. Neither are you wearing anything, but you are showing nothing off either (think: a snap from the back, lying on your stomach, or covering up with a sheet or pillows).

Your boudoir photoshoot is best done before the wedding. If you’ve invested time, money, and effort into a pre-wedding wellness or beauty regimen, you can show off your glowing results up to a week or two before the wedding (although, this depends on how much time you have or how stressed you are right before your day). An enjoyable photoshoot is also a good way to relax and unwind from wedding preparations. Don’t schedule your boudoir photoshoot for the morning of your wedding, though. Alternatively, you can take them whenever you’d like. If you’re like us, you’ll be too busy on the day of the wedding to squeeze in an extra photoshoot (and you don’t want to look rushed or stressed in your sexy shots, do you?).

All the Details

You may be wondering how long a bridal boudoir session last. The length of your boudoir photoshoot will be determined by the photography package you select, but plan on a two-hour minimum. Hair and makeup preparation, as well as any additional props or lighting, take time. Relaxation may take some time for you as well. Because most brides-to-be aren’t used to posing in a silk robe or lingerie in front of a camera, your first few shots may come off as stiff. You should do some research before deciding on a budget for your project. Renting props, changing sets frequently, or simply putting in the time can quickly add up. A wedding photography package that includes a private session may cost less than if you hire a different photographer. Your photographer’s personality will come through in your photos, so make sure you click with him or her. Keep in mind that if you plan to buy new lingerie and/or have your hair and makeup done before the event, you may need to increase your budget.

A location that is both beautiful and comfortable is ideal for a photoshoot location. Many photographers prefer to shoot their images in a studio environment. While a hotel room is a popular choice, your own home can also be a wonderful setting. Getting the go-ahead from your photographer on the location is the most important part of the process; you’ll need a variety of backdrops and a lot of natural light. Dress in a way that gives you a sense of self-assurance, comfort, and sexiness. It’s a good idea to bring at least three different colors of clothing: white, black, and a bright one. You can achieve sultry, curvy silhouettes with corsetry, while romantic, dreamy lines can be achieved with delicate lingerie. To complete your look, don’t forget to include any accessories like shoes and jewelry (and your engagement ring, of course). However, it’s a good idea to bring someone along who isn’t afraid of the camera in order to keep things calm. Make some jokes with a friend and listen to their encouragement and even suggestions to help you relax. Bring a bottle of bubbly, which is sure to be a hit. Let your hair down and have a good time with some bubbly. With practice, you’ll be posing like a pro in no time—and your lucky partner will love the results.
