When I first met Ms. K, I immediately felt a strong connection to her. Though this happens to me a lot with my clients, some are more stronger than others. I think it has to do with the fact I make it a point to be vulnerable and personable with each client who comes into the studio. I want them to feel comfortable around me first of all, that is an essential ingredient to a successful shoot.
During our consultation, Ms. K decided to open up about a part of her personal life with me that instantly made me want to reach out and hug her. I believe I waited until we were finished talking, but I cannot remember. Sometimes I am more of a hugger than a speaker. I felt compelled to show her my compassion as she shared something so personal with a stranger. Sometimes it’s in those sweet moments that you appreciate your clients and their willingness to trust you, which let’s be honest isn’t always easy to do, especially with someone you just met.
Trust is such another essential ingredient, and what I say is the KEY and main ingredient to a successful session. We laughed a lot during her sessions with me. I cannot fully remember every topic we chatted about, but they always ended with some laughter. I like when sessions are super relaxed because clients feel at ease, which allows me to capture their true selves without forcing them to be someone they aren’t.
I felt like Ms. K was an old friend who I hadn’t seen in years, and we were catching up. Even though it was my first time meeting her, It was such an instant connect that has lead to such a beautiful friendship. She has come to me with things she needed help with, and I have always felt it was my duty to help her even if it was words of encouragement. She is such a brave soul! She has been through so much in her life, but she has overcome many obstacles. I am proud of her and everything she is currently doing right now to follow her dreams!
I am EXCITED to share her images as she embarks on a new journey on the west coast!
